Gong royal; singjay and song writer, was born on may 15,
1985 in st. mary jamaica. Gong Royal (born Keegan King) grew up with two
other brothers in a single parent home, life was ruff at times and to keep
focused gong started a music group along with several of his child hood friends, the
group was known as Bomb Rush, and back then, Gong was know as 3K. The group
(Bomb Rush) did really well and made a name for themselves around the ST.
Mary area, and quickly gained respect and love. However life was still hard,
so Gong decided to venture to the united states for a better life and career
in the music business. he settled in colorado and got right to work. But the Reggae/ dance hallwas slow,
Gong then made his way to virginia and started working with
Fidelity Recording< . Gong then started more solo projects he wrote himself,
such tunes include, (nuff a dem, Victory  and Strive) Life seemed to be
going okay until one night in the spring of 2009 Gong was shot twice and severely
injured, life just seemed to get worse by the minute, Gong was just several
minutes away from bleeding out and left for dead in a parking lot. Gong
awoke the next morning with the news of never being able to walk again, at
least not without amputation of his right leg. Some how Gong Royal didn't
let that stop him, after numerous surgeries, news coverage, and a tarnished
name, he decided to do what others wouldn't, help himself. Keegan began
training himself, with physical thereapy, meditation, and exersize, and got
his leg back. Walking without crutches, without help. Today he is a
standing, living miracle, who proved doctors and medical staff to be wrong.
Gong Royal to this day is in Virginia beach, back in the studio morning,
noon, and night writing new songs and appearing on track with such artiste
as, Eastman (his brother) Nubian, Toc, Fire Star, Scrue etc and opening for reggae artiste such
as Mr. Vegas, Buju Banton and numerous others.
Gong Royal believes in going hard for what he wants and that nothing can stop him.
